“It is a great honor and privilege to join my nonprofit colleagues as a recipient of this year’s NonProfit Times Power & Influence Top 50. It is particularly gratifying that a national arts organization is being recognized for the continued fight to build stronger communities through the arts,” commented Lynch. “The arts are uniting people and transforming communities across America, and it is vital that we continue to highlight their value and give support so that more lives can be enriched.”
In its description about Lynch, The NonProfit Times wrote: “Lynch might be more effective at saving federal funding for the arts than the behemoths targeted for the cuts. He touts the economic impact of the largest and smallest organizations, traveling the nation making sure doors stay open. He leads the way in sharing ideas that even competitive organizations can all implement.”
Others named to the 2019 NPT Power & Influence Top 50 include:
- James Canales, President & Trustee, The Barr Foundation
- Daniel Cardinali, President & CEO, Independent Sector
- Timothy J. McClimon, President, American Express Foundation
- Henry Timms, Executive Director, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts
The 2019 honorees were selected from a group of approximately 300 executives. A committee of NonProfit Times staff, contributors, and a few executives were involved in the selection process. The executives on the NPT Power & Influence Top 50 list must have had an impact during the previous 12 months.
Honorees will be feted in mid-September at the NPT Power & Influence Top 50 Gala at The National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
